Grupo Credito Agricola is a Portuguese financial group consisting of numerous local banks – Caixas Agricolas – and also specialised companies supported by its central structure: the Caixa Central de Credito Agricola Mutuo bank institution.
Grupo Credito Agricola is one of the main Portuguese banking groups with 82 Caixas de Credito Agricola owning about 671 Agencies in the Portuguese national territory, more than 400 thousand associates and 1,200,000 clients.

CHALLENGE

The challenge was to develop a mobile app aimed at young people (pre-teens) with the purpose of fostering hard to grasp concepts like saving money whilst promoting learning in a fun way.

solution

A native Android and iOS app for tablets introducing the City of Cristas (‘Cristas’ is Credito Agricola’s mascot) where children can learn how to play and interact with Cristas, play games and learn about saving money.
City of Cristas is a virtual city (the games’ environment) where it is possible to earn ‘EuroCristas’ (the virtual coin of the club), playing a game called Adventures of Cristas. With these coins, they will be able to visit CA Junior (a virtual bank) and open a virtual savings account which allows them to earn more EuroCristas.
The ‘Clube do Cristas’ (Cristas’ Club) is another concept that is introduced as a place where you can play and save money, as well as an online community of friends of Cristas with several useful features. In this club, it is possible to invite and compete with friends, have access to an agenda of cultural events, activities and suggestions directed at this younger audience, organise birthday parties and send Cristas birthday invitations, among other features.

Digital Works’ remit in this project comprised consultancy, strategy and solution design, all the design for the club, environments and app UI and UX, development of an Android and an iOS app and the development and design of a supporting microsite. Digital Works is also responsible for managing Cristas’ Club (content, new features and technical support).
